Reopening of the QIIP for 2017-2018!

The reopening of the QIIP was officially announced. The next QIIP intake will be open from May 29, 2017 until February 23, 2018. Now is the perfect time to ramp up promotion and client recruitment for the QIIP program.

MIDI is accepting 1,900 QIIP applications

As in the previous intake, the number of QIIP requests allowed is 1,900. Once again, the Ministry has split the quota between requests from China and requests from other territories. There will be 1,330 spots allocated for Chinese QIIP applications and 570 for applications from other territories.

Are there changes in the application fees to the Ministry?

As of now, there are no changes in the application fees. In January 1st, 2017, the fees were increased from $15,000 CAD to $15,111 CAD, and it will remain for the time being. We will promptly inform you of any changes, should they arise.
Once again, all requests must be submitted to the MIDI offices in Montreal.

Advantages of QIIP for French speaking applicants upheld

For French speaking applicants, there remains:

- No quota restrictions. An unlimited number of QIIP applications can be submitted.

- No intake period limitations. QIIP applications can be submitted year round.

- Express processing. MIDI offers express processing for French speaking applicants’ files. Final decisions can be rendered by MIDI within a matter of months.

French speaking applicants must demonstrate, through standardized tests recognized by MIDI, that they have an advanced intermediate proficiency in French (B2).

Age of Dependent Child

Despite the fact that the Canadian Government has expressed its intention to increase the age of a dependent child, no changes have been made to this date. Therefore, at the time of this writing, a dependent child has to be less than 19 years of age and is neither married nor a de facto spouse.
